Live Performance: Distrust Everything by LOREM
AV Installation | Italian Premiere | RE:Humanism

From July 15 to 24, 2022, we presented, in collaboration with RE:Humanism , the Italian debut of LOREM's immersive installation Distrust Everything. This explosive sound and visual device, based on generative neural networks, had already been presented at Festival Elevate and commissioned by Superbudda.

LOREM is a music-driven multidisciplinary practice by Italian musician, visual artist, and independent researcher Francesco D'Abbraccio. Using neural networks, CGI, and digital technologies, he designs audiovisual environments with strong narrative connotations. LOREM's identity oscillates between the individual dimension and the collective experience, thanks to ongoing collaborations with digital artist Karol Sudolski (co-director of Distrust Everything) and Mirek Hardiker, as well as interactions with artists and researchers external to the project, including Acre, Mario Klingemann, and Obake AI. His work has been exhibited at Ars Electronica, Venice Architecture Biennale, NXT Museum Amsterdam, Sheffield DocFest, Opéra de Lille, Triennale Milano, HEK Basel, Transmediale Vorspiel, Fiber Festival, Design Museum, and RomaEuropa Festival.

Distrust Everything was installed in COSMO, in front of the main apse, welcoming visitors as they opened the door, in the form of an immersive room. Over the span of two weeks, we hosted a series of events featuring guests from the quintessential editorial and musical network of LOREM and Krisis Publishing.
