Agnese Amico | Alalie
Agnese Amico was already aquainted with COSMO when she showed up in January 2022 to record her debut album "Alalie", released by zOaR Records, which contains music entirely improvised on hardingfele, a traditional instrument in use in the southwestern regions of Norway, where it is used for dancing, accompanied by the rhythmic beating of the feet. The work dwells on the feeling of alalie, or the loss of words, thoughts and memories that leads to an inability to interact with a given environment.
Her music is "an exploration of the feeling of alalia with my Sicilian and Norwegian home countries and plays with this sense of detachment. The music takes inspiration from the folk songs of those lands, without claiming to make them my own. The songs interact, as the smell of snow and figs merge into one indefinable scent."
