Recording session: Gavin Bryars & Yuri Bryars
Sound installation | Italian Pavilion | Venice Art Biennale 2024

In February 2024, COSMOGRAM was commissioned to record a piece for Massimo Bartolini's project Due Qui / To Hear, curated by Luca Cerizza and presented at the Italian Pavilion for the 60th Venice Art Biennale.

Musicians Gavin Bryars and Yuri Bryars were invited to rehearse and record their new composition, A veces ya no puedo moverme, with our team in our studio. The choral piece, inspired by Roberto Juarroz's poem, features early music singers—Alessandra Fiori, Francesca Santi, and Silvia Testoni—accompanied by bell plates and a vibraphone.

COSMOGRAM is honored to have contributed to such a beautiful project with esteemed artists and to have witnessed the brilliant composers bring their vision to life in the church with such grace, and humility.

The sound installation will be on display in the Giardino delle Vergini inside the Italian Pavilion until November 2024.
